This is Italy’s newest supercar: the outrageous 186mph Covini C6W. All four front wheels steer, and Covini Engineering claims that the six-wheeled layout improves grip and braking performance.
Power comes from a 4.2-litre Audi V8, which sends its 380bhp to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual ’box. A production version is expected at the 2004 Geneva Motor Show.
Conceived in 1974 to pay homage to the six-wheeled Tyrrell F1 car, Covini has only now found the necessary technology and funding.
