Suzuki's Paris Splash

Suzuki has already confirmed that its Swift Sport will be at the Paris motor show - but it will also show a future model with this Splash concept car.

The production version is planned for launch in September 2007. But the Splash will allow Suzuki to gauge reaction at Paris next month. It has an entirely new 1.2-litre petrol engine, mated to a four-speed automatic gearbox.

The Splash is slightly taller and longer than the Swift, being based on a stretched version of the Swift platform. That's a tactic that's already worked well for Suzuki, with the SX4.

Suzuki is also planning a new Alto to banish memories of the underperforming previous incarnation. It is scheduled for an on-sale date of the end of 2007 - perhaps with a study 'concept car' performing a similar role to the Splash at next year's Geneva show.
