Wannabe Kimi Raikkonens and Fernando Alonsos now have the chance to show their credentials behind the wheel for just £199 a month. Because that’s what it’ll take to become part of the 2006 Caterham Academy grid.
The 23 monthly instalments are augmented by a down payment of £3900 and a final lump sum of £9860 due in 2007, but the price includes not only eight rounds of sprints, hillclimbs and races, driver instruction and guidance towards getting your National B racing license, but entrants also get to keep the car – a 120bhp, 1.6-litre Caterham Roadsport worth £16,495.
Silverstone, Goodwood and Cadwell Park are among the venues the Acadamy – currently in its tenth season - will be visiting, with each competitor receiving technical support during the season.
