Currently reading: Hot Colt to undercut Fiesta ST

Mitsubishi's new 150bhp Colt turbo, the CZT, will cost just under £13,000 when sales start next February, undercutting the Ford Fiesta ST by more than £500. The three door range will start at £7499 for the petrol 1.1-litre Colt, with 1.3-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engines coming at a premium.

The manufacturer has also confirmed that there will be a third body style to choose from in its Colt supermini range next year – a two-plus-two convertible designed and built in Europe with Pininfarina, and tailored as a rival for Peugeot’s popular 206 CC.

However, unlike the CZ2 cabriolet concept unveiled at the Geneva motor show in 2003, the open-top Colt will feature a folding metal roof.
