Cadillac has revealed a new badge, which will first appear on the CTS and ATS coupe models.
The new crest, unveiled at the Detroit motor show, will start appearing on Cadillac vehicles in the second half of this year.
Cadillac says the new badge is an evolution of its previous design, and is sleeker and more streamlined than historic versions of the badge. One of the most significant changes is the removal of the wreath element, which previously surrounded the central shield.
The design has been seen before, as it appeared on the Emiraj concept last year. Prior to this redesign, the Cadillac crest was last updated in 1999.
Executive design director Andrew Smith said: "This new crest matches the lower, longer, leaner mantra of our current car designs, and reflects the evolution of our Art and Science philosophy."
Cadillac says it has decided to update its logo to celebrate a 22 per cent sales increase in the US in 2013.

Hmm...
Big deal
There seems to be an attitude in the US, and GM in particular, that brand and marketing are all it takes to make a successful car brand - get that right and the customer will buy anything !!
