Alfa commits to US return

Alfa Romeo is set to export cars to the United States for the first time in over a decade, with sales expected to recommence next year.

The Italian brand pulled out of the American market in 1995, but Fiat CEO Sergio Marchionne confirmed late last week that a return was imminent. He declined to provide a date, but sources say that an initial line-up of 159, Brera and Spider will be sold from early 2007.
