Audi ramps up Q7 production

Audi's first foray into the SUV market is paying off - it is increasing production of the Q7 to meet high demand.

The factory will now turn out 300 vehicles a day rather than 200. That takes annual production from 50,000 to 70,000.

Audi has 16,000 customer orders for the car. Production is scheduled to continue through holiday periods at the Slovakian factory.

The Q7 is to be launched in the US and China in June and in all remaining global markets in the second half of this year.
