Tickets bought in advance for the British motor show will be £10 cheaper

Booking tickets in advance for the first day of the 2006 British Motor Show in July can save £10 per ticket. Tickets for the first day of the show, on 20 July, cost £40 on the door but can be picked up for just £30 by ordering by phone or over the internet.

But you'll need to be quick, just 25,000 tickets will be issued for the first day to ensure crowds are kept to a minimum.

Advance tickets for other days of the show, to be held for the first time in the Excel centre in London, saves £2 per ticket compared to the on the door price. Tickets for weekdays cost £8 per adult, while tickets for a weekend day cost £10. Children’s tickets can also be booked in advance with a reduction of £1, costing £5 for a weekday and £7 at the weekend.

Big attractions at the show could include the appearance of a new Freelander from Land Rover. Other major manufacturers expected to attend include BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Ford, Mazda, Lotus and Vauxhall. Porsche is still undecided whether to attend, but if it does its stand could feature the 911 Turbo and a facelifted Cayenne. However Audi, VW, Skoda and Subaru have all confirmed that they will not have a stand at the show.

Visitors will not just have the chance to view new cars, but also take them for a brief spin over a 1.4-mile course that loops around the centre. A dedicated 4x4 course has also been constructed to allow visitors to enjoy off-road thrills under the guidance of a qualified instructor. Organisers will also offer demonstrations on the river from the Royal Navy, as well as open-air rock concerts in the evening.
