Arash Farboud, the man behind the Farboud GTS supercar, has quashed rumours in internet chatrooms that the firm is struggling.

‘We’re three months behind schedule, but in sports car manufacturing that’s pretty good,’ he said.Eight of the firm’s 25 staff were recently made redundant, including chief engineer Keith Lane, but Farboud claimed the first customer cars have already been completed.

Price for the top-spec GTS, with 580bhp twin-turbo Audi RS4-derived V6 power and six-speed sequential gearbox, remains at £150,000. A cut-price entry-level V8 model will join the line-up next year.
