Flagging it up

Here’s a novel alternative to flying a flag from your car to show your support for England. This St George’s flag, consisting of 400 Yaris cars, was made by a team of 40 drivers and workshop technicians at Toyota’s Burnaston factory in Derbyshire. It measures 80m by 40m and can be seen from 300m in the air.

Bosses at the plant were fully behind the idea, not only juggling teams and shifts to make sure the flag was ready, but also so that their workers can watch the big game. But don’t worry, production of the Corolla and Avensis at the factory has not been affected, with a car still rolling off the production line every 45 seconds.
