The future of Land Rover’s Solihull factory is back in the spotlight after last week’s 24-hour strike. About 8000 workers walked out in a protest over pay.
The Premier Automotive Group, which runs Jaguar, is considering the fate of the Solihull plant and has already decided to switch production of the next-generation Freelander to its Halewood factory on Merseyside.
A spokesman admitted that the strike has put the future of Solihull ‘at risk’.
