Peugeot workers in Paris protest

UK Peugeot workers are travelling to Paris on Wednesday, to protest against the closure of the Ryton plant.

British workers, along with representatives of the Transport and General Workers' Union, will be joined by European colleagues outside Peugeot's annual general meeting in Paris.

The Warwickshire factory, which builds the 206, is due to close next year, with the loss of 2300 jobs. Peugeot had originally indicated that it would keep production of the 206 in the UK, but says that each UK-made car costs £287 more to produce than its French-built equivalent.
