Currently reading: LA motor show: New Porsche Cayman pictured

First images leak out ahead of an official reveal at the LA motor show on Wednesday evening

These are reported to be the first pictures of the new Porsche Cayman, which is scheduled to be unveiled at the Los Angeles motor show today.

The images appear to show the second-generation Cayman, which shares its lightweight aluminium body, roomier cabin and upgraded six-cylinder engines with its sister car, the Porsche Boxster.

The base Cayman engine will be a 2.7-litre flat six, downsized from the 2.9 in today’s car. It’s expected to produce about 280bhp, up from 262bhp in the 2.9. The Cayman S will get a 3.4-litre flat six with about 330bhp, up from 315bhp in today’s car.

The new Cayman will be offered with a six-speed manual as standard and
an optional seven-speed,
dual-clutch auto gearbox.

Full technical details and official pictures are expected to be revealed around 8pm UK time tonight.

OMG it's hideous

What are Porsche thinking with the new cayman ? They have tried to make it look like the Panam.. it's so ugly I can't even type it's name

No thanks...

I still think the car's looks remain unresolved.  I just don't rate it to look at.  I'd much sooner have (991) 911 Carrera (or even the Boxster).
