Subaru accompanied the global launch of its all-new BRZ coupe at the Tokyo motor show with this GT300 racing version. The Subaru BRZ GT300 is designed to meet the current 2011 Super GT regulations in Japan.
It is the work is Subaru's in-house tuning arm, STI. The car is powered by an STI developed horizontally opposed engine and it gets a special STI tuned engine management system.
Styling wise, the racer is a world apart from the road car it is based on. It gets a larger air intake at the front and air scoops for the bonnet, plus a larger carbonfibre splitter.
There are 18in black alloys wrapped in slick Yokohama Advan rubber. At the back, the model gets a vast fixed rear spoiler and an equally impressive rear diffuser.
Perspex is used for the rear and side windows. The arches are also substantially flared and exhausts come out of the side skirts.
The stripped out interior features a full roll cage and a Recaro racing seat.
