Porsche's new Boxster has undergone such a gentle outward reworking that it's difficult to tell apart from its predecessor. Nonetheless, underneath those familiar-seeming panels, Zuffenhausen's favourite sports car has been in for extensive updates, and it's on sale now. The question on every potential buyer's lips is this: amongst a field of refreshed and talented German rivals, does the Boxster still punch hardest? Autocar provides the answer this week, as Porsche Boxster takes on BMW Z4 3.0-litre and Mercedes Benz SLK 350. Back in June, it was the much improved Mercedes that walked away with group test honours; it served up a combination of talents that proved 'impossible to beat.' Now that the group test is being re-run with Porsche's next generation roadster, it's a chance for the Porsche to regain its laurels.
