Dragster makes new UK record

Dragster Split Second has recorded a new UK record average speed of 334.59mph at Bruntingthorpe Proving Ground in Lecicestershire. The jet-powered dragster, driven by Mark Newby, was in testing ahead of a UK land speed record attempt at RAF Fairford, Gloucestershire on 7 July.

Dragster creators Primetime Land Speed Engineering, already holders of the current Outright British Land Speed Record at an average of 300.3mph, were also testing a battery powered, all-electric streamliner, ‘e=motion’, with which they hope to beat the current 139mph UK Electric Speed Record.
