Currently reading: DVLA hits tax dodgers

The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency is getting tough on Britain’s 1,8 million road tax dodgers, with new legislation which comes into force on 1 January.

From then, registered keepers who fail to re-tax their vehicle within one month will automatically be fined £80 (reduced to £40 if paid within 28 days). They no longer have to be caught on the road without a tax disc.
