North Wales Police has relaxed its attitude towards speeders, despite its Chief Constable Richard Brunstrom being one of the most vociferous speed camera supporters.
In line with Autocar’s Talking Sense on Speed campaign, the force will be issuing drivers with warnings instead of going straight for fines and penalty points.
In a scheme created by the Arrive Alive campaign, speeders caught by the mobile speed units doing less than 38mph in a 30mph zone will be sent a letter outlining the dangers of speeding and the numbers of deaths in the area, rather than the standard fine.
