2017 Renault Koleos teased

The Renault Koleos has been partially revealed in a video released on Renault's Twitter channel. 

The new large SUV is expected to resurrect the Koleos name and share underpinnings with the Nissan X-Trail under the Renault-Nissan alliance. 

We've previously spotted the Koleos testing alongside its smaller sibling, the Renault Kadjar, demonstrating the size difference between the two models. Although only a light cluster is revealed in the teaser, it's clear that it follows the intricate design of those seen on the Mégane and Talisman, including the LED daytime running lights extending out of the shot, likely below the main lights in a C-shape, like its siblings elsewhere in the Renault range.

The current Koleos is produced in Korea and sold in many non-UK markets. It was pulled from the UK in 2011 following only a small number of sales. Although the Koleos name is not confirmed and the 'Maxthon' name has been circulated, the model will replace the current Koleos, so it would be unusual for the manufacturer to change the name of an existing car. 

Although certain models in the Renault line-up, such as the Talisman and Espace, haven't been carried over to the UK, Nissan's presence in the UK market with the X-Trail means it's likely that the upcoming Koleos will follow suit. 

Renault remains tight-lipped on any details, but the timing of the teaser suggests that we'll see the Koleos in full at the Beijing motor show next week. 

Prices are expected to closely match those of the X-Trail, as the Kadjar is priced around the same point as the Nissan Nissan Qashqai.
