A 'street-legal' Vauxhall drag racer that produces almost 3000bhp will be launched at Silverstone later this month.
The Vauxhall Red Victor 3 has been produced in partnership between Vauxhall’s VXR brand and the Red Victor drag racing team for use in next year’s MSA Pro-Modified Drag Racing Season.

Despite its drag racer looks and being powered by a twin-turbocharged 8.8-litre GM V8 engine producing almost 3000bhp, making it the world’s fastest Vauxhall, its makers claim it is still street-legal.
Development is still ongoing, but the team expects to be able to get to a speed of 240mph within a quarter of a mile from standing. It is expected to take just 6.5sec to cover this distance.
The team’s last project, Red Victor 2, reached almost 200mph over a quarter of a mile from standing, getting from 0-153mph in just 4.8sec.
Red Victor 3 will be the star attraction at the VXR Power Festival at Silverstone on 28-29 August. The event, which raises money for the Help for Heroes charity, also features a 0-60mph challenge and karting, as well as a chance for owners of V8-powered Vauxhalls to lap Silverstone.

Great to see the return of the Vauxhall Victor!
Re: 3000bhp Vauxhall launched
...Or the Saxo spot-mobile Dobbie mentioned earlier. With real flames on its bonnet this time! Now that would be worth seeing...

Street legal until the inevitable 12ft flames come roaring from the back, torching some poor unsuspecting old man's duffel coat crossing behind it!
