Vauxhall's new 4x4 will tackle Honda's CR-V head on this July

Vauxhall's new 4x4 will be going head to head with the Honda CR-V when it arrives in July.

The new SUV, which is on sale now, will start at £19,850 for the 2.4-litre petrol-powered E model; £350 less than the CR-V ES 2.0-litre petrol.

All other Antaras come with a 2.0-litre turbodiesel engine, starting at £20,995 and rising to £27,695 for the top-spec model with automatic gearbox.

Standard equipment includes ESP, descent control, air-con, roof rails, 17-inch alloys and front foglights.

The posher S model gets 18-inch alloys, climate control, cruise control, heated front seats, rain-activated wipers and self-levelling suspension.

Go for the top-of-the-range SE £26,295 with a manual gearbox) and you also get sat-nav. Bluetooth, xenon lights, leather upholstery, parking sensors, and a six-disc CD changer.

All models get the option of the £475 Flex-Fix bike rack, which like that on the Corsa pulls out from the rear bumper.
