British supercar maker Ascari announces a second model line to join the KZ1

Low-volume British supercar builder Ascari is developing a new, more powerful flagship road car in addition to its handsome KZ1.

Badged A10, the new car is a roadgoing version of Ascari’s Spanish GT Race Car, which its makers hope will top 220mph thanks to a combination of a 600bhp 5.0-litre V8 engine and a kerbweight of just 1280kg.

Prototypes are currently being tested on roads and at Ascari’s private race track in advance of the carbonfibre-bodied A10’s launch next summer. Just 50 cars will be built at the firm’s Banbury plant, priced at around £350,000. Options are likely to include a sequential gearbox in place of the standard six-speed manual.
