If you’re in the market for a new car, or after the best new-car leasing deal, you can save thousands with a little research. This is the pick of what our deals experts have found this week.
The latest Citroën C4 Picasso is new to UK roads and the modern-looking car can be yours for a mere £15,950, courtesy of GBcardeals.com. The high-spec MPV, in VTR+ trim and with PSA's 1.6-litre e-HDI represents a saving of £4205.
We return to GBcardeals for our second offer, this time on the Peugeot 208. In high-specification Feline trim, the five-door hatchback normally costs around £17,000, however this deal saves customers £3515.67 on the list price. This particular model is available at £13,529 and features include DAB radio and satellite-navigation, a multicolour touch-screen and 17-inch alloy wheels.
We found a good deal on the Volkswagen Up city car from National Vehicle Solutions. For a £1800 deposit customers can drive away the 1.0-litre three-door model in TakeUp trim for £64 per month. That's based on a 36- month contract, and includes a 5000-mile annual limit.
The new Audi TT is due to be revealed at the Geneva motor show in March, which means dealers and lease companies are keen to get you into their old stock. This offer, from Yes Lease, gets you a 1.8-litre FSI model in S line trim for £223. That's on a two-year contract, and includes a deposit of £1339.20.

The Vauxhall Astra is consistently one of the best-selling cars in this country, and with good reason. We found an offer worth watching from UK Car Discount, for a 1.7-litre CDTi model with ecoFlex technology for £14,747. That's a saving of £7,218 from the list price, and also includes £525 worth of optional extras.

Where is the Avensis
Very underrated car, as the likes of Autocar trot out the usual "boring design" nonsense, yet fawn over 3 series and A4s that, if anything, are even more plain design than the Avensis.
Another week, another Up deal
I find it hard to evaluate whether these are really good deals or not. On the face of it, this latest one means that you'll spend some £4104 for the pleasure of driving 15,000 miles in the tiny VW over three years. That's approximately half of the car's initial cost - so personally I'd rather buy the car outright and take my chances on the car retaining a decent percentage of its original price three years down the road - and without having to put up with a severe mileage restriction.

This makes the quoted leasing deal seem even worse value. I'd say it makes sense to buy outright if you can possibly afford it, or if you can secure low interest finance.
Of course, you could also buy a Citroen C1 or Suzuki Alto for around £6000, both of which do pretty much the same job as the VW. Maybe it's these kind of deals that are keeping the up prices in check.
