Vauxhall’s VX220 roadster will be given a shot in the arm this summer with a longer, wider, V6-powered VX320 revealed in this official artist’s impression.

Hertfordshire-based S Sport has dropped a supercharged 3.0-litre V6 supplying 325bhp and 282lb ft of torque into a modified VX, making today’s VX220 Turbo, pictured right, which sprints to 60mph in 4.9sec and on to 151mph, look decidedly tame. S Sport predicts a 4.0sec 0-60mph dash and top speed of 160mph-plus.

The VX320 is longer and wider, thanks to 100mm stretched tracks and a wheelbase elongated by 170mm to 2500mm. S-Sport fits an entirely new rear subframe and suspension, a revised clutch, braking system, fuel tank and cooling.

The VX320 should cost £45,000 for a fully built car.
