Facelifted hatchbacks get upgraded trim and equipment

Citroen is giving its C2 and C3 Pluriel mild facelifts for the summer, with styling tweaks and new trim levels.The C2 gets a new radiator grille and one-piece bumper, plus a simplified range of just four specs; Vibe, Rhythm, VTR and VTS. The entry price for the C2 has risen by £800, with the base 1.1-litre Vibe model starting from £8795, but standard equipment levels have also improved; MP3 input now standard across the range.The Cote d’Azur C3 Pluriel has been given a new engine as well as a new look. It is now available with a 1.4-litre, 70bhp HDi diesel motor, priced at £14,395, £1165 over the 1.4i Pluriel.Citroen’s slightly offbeat convertible also gets revised front and rear lights, a metallic front grille and aluminium effect roof arches, plus cruise control as standard.The rest of the C3 Pluriel range remains unchanged, and the standard C3 hatchback gets revised trim levels but no facelift. A 1.6-litre, 92bhp HDi diesel option has been added to the C3 engine range, however; it costs £11,895.
