You know summer’s really arrived when the special editions turn up – and here’s Mitsubishi’s entry, the Colt Blue.
It arrives in September, costing £8495. But while the Blue’s headline figures are pretty impressive at this price - 0-62mph in 12.9sec, 103mph top speed and 49.6mpg combined - it’s the year’s free insurance and three years’ free servicing that have the most allure. There’s also a three-year unlimited-mileage warranty and pan-European breakdown cover.
The Blue comes only in three-door form, with Mitsubishi’s characterful 1.1-litre three-cylinder engine, and is loaded with kit including 16-inch alloys, automatic wipers and lights, an MP3-compatible sound system, electric front windows and front and side airbags.
As you’ve probably guessed, there’s only one choice of colour.
