Currently reading: Honda to pick-up US truck sales

Honda is the latest Japanese manufacturer to threaten the heartland of American car makers – the pick-up.

This SUT concept will be unveiled at the Detroit Motor Show, and heralds the second Japanese attack on the biggest- selling vehicle in the world, Ford’s F150 pick-up. Nissan launched its Titan in the US earlier this year.

A production version of the SUT will follow in around 2006. Power is likely to come from the 3.0-litre V6, and Honda claims the truck will set new standards for fuel efficiency, emissions and safety.
