Currently reading: New Daewoo wagon rolls

Daewoo will spice up competition in the bargain estate market in September with this Nubira wagon. Based on the Pininfarina-designed saloon, the estate model can swallow 400 litres of luggage, expanding to 1410 with the rear seat folded.

Two engines will be offered: a 109bhp 1.6 and a 121bhp 1.8.

Alloy roof rails are standard and other handy touches include an extra 12v socket in the boot to power laptops or fridges and a total of 25 cubby holes.

The estate is based on the Lacetti/Nubira platform. It’s slightly bigger than a Subaru Impreza and will cost from around £11,500.
