Ford is extending the Mustang range with two models launched around the New York motor show - and one of them is specially created for the hire car business.
The Shelby GT-H is a limited-edition model created for Hertz (the H in the car's name). Around 500 examples will be built and made available at Hertz desks in Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Hawaii, Massachusetts, Nevada, Oregon and Washington.
The GT-H has a black paint scheme with 'Hertz gold' racing stripes, bonnet pins and a brushed aluminium grille. Under the bonnet, Ford has fitted its Power Pack to boost power from the V8 engine to 325bhp, and tuned dampers to assist handling. A performance exhaust finishes off the package with the requisite rumble.
Ford has also used the New York show to highlight its GT/California Special, a Mustang option package that includes lowered suspension, a rear diffuser, 18in polished aluminium wheels and black leather seats.
