Currently reading: New Range Rover gets a name

Land Rover has started registering possible names for its new BMW X5 and Porsche Cayenne rival. The three front runners are Range Stormer, Range Sport and Range Rover Sport.

All three names have been registered recently for the US and Europe, apart from Range Stormer, which is US only.

Expect the sporty SUV to go on sale in early 2005 slotting in between the existing Discovery and Range Rover.

Clues to the eventual look of the fourth Land Rover range have already been given when a sketch was flashed before journalists at the Frankfurt motor show. Here though is Autocar’s exclusive artwork of what the final car could look like.
