New Vauxhall Corsa revealed

These are the first official images of Vauxhall's next Corsa, which will be one of the stars of this year's British motor show in London.

Vauxhall has high hopes for the new car, which was developed alongside the Fiat Punto and shares the Italian car's underpinnings. It's 173mm longer and 50mm than the old car, and Vauxhall is promising a higher-quality cabin as well as 'big car' options like Bluetooth and satellite navigation.

The first images show the three-door model, but Vauxhall sources say that the five-door version will feature a different body style in a similar fashion to the Astra range. Engine choices will include 1.0, 1.2 and 1.4-litre petrols, and two diesels, a 1.3-litre and a new 123bhp 1.7-litre.

The car goes on sale this autumn. A VXR variant with 195bhp should be available from early next year.
