Saab is understood to have canned plans to import the 9-2X wagon in Europe. The Subaru Impreza-based ‘Saabaru’ was developed for the US as a quick fix, but UK marketers were campaigning to sell it here as a sporty estate. Company sources said last week that the European business case didn’t add up, despite strong demand from countries such as the UK and Switzerland.
