Currently reading: Performance leap for Crossfire

Chrysler’s Street & Racing Technology department has fettled the Crossfire – and this is the 330bhp supercharged result.

The Crossfire SRT-6 inherits the outgoing Mercedes SLK 32 AMG’s engine and is capable of 0-62mph in just over 5.0sec. The power goes through a five-speed auto, uprated to handle the 115bhp increase over the standard Crossfire, and the addition of a performance exhaust should mean a meatier soundtrack from the V6.

The ride is also tweaked, with uprated springs and dampers. On the styling front, the SRT-6 gets a fixed rear spoiler, new front chin spoiler and lighter 15-spoke alloys.

Sales should start late this year, with the coupé priced at around £33k, and the cabrio version in the region of £35k.
