Peugeot tweaks the 307 range

Peugeot has been at work on its 307 range: the hatchback, SW and CC variants have got improved specs and there is a new range-topping GT - but it has been increasing prices too.

The entry-level model, now called Urban, includes air conditioning but costs £600 more than the E it replaces. The S gets 16-inch alloys, front fog lights, a leather steering wheel and cruise control for a £500 increase.

There is also a new Sport model for £1,400 more than the S. 17-inch alloys, sport front seats, black leather, dual zone air conditioning, a 5-disc CD autochanger and automatic headlights and wipers are the highlights.

At the top sits the new GT. It is available with 2.0-litre 180bhp petrol power in three and five-door forms (for £17,000 and £17,600 respectively) or with the 136bhp HDi diesel for £17,500 and £18,100.That means price increases of £400 over the Feliné model it replaces, though the specification includes a Thatcham Class 1 alarm, rear spoiler, chrome exhausts and aluminium pedals.

The SW and CC have also seen their specifications improve. The SW S gets cruise control and 16-inch alloys for a £500 increase; the new CC Sport, available across the engine range, has 17-inch alloys, leather and cruise control for around £300 more than the SE it replaces.
