Mazda has collaborated with Prodrive to create this PZ version of the RX-8, only 800 of which will be made.
The PZ, which has the 228bhp version of the RX-8's Wankel rotary engine, will be on sale from 1 July at £25,995.
The most significant changes are to the suspension, which has been lowered by 15mm. There are new Eibach springs at front and rear which are 60 per cent stiffer, with uprated Bilstein dampers and 10mm-shorter bumpstops also featuring.
There are two colours: the 'Galaxy Grey' seen here or 'Brilliant Black'. The 18-inch alloys are unique to the car and the black mesh grilles at front and rear help distinguish the PZ from other RX-8s, which is just as well: it costs £3695 more than the identically-powered standard model.
The PZ also sounds different from other RX-8s. An upgraded rear silencer was developed to give a sportier sound inside and outside the car.
