MG has cut the CO2 emissions figures for its diesel MG6 down to 129g/km. That's compared to 139g/km when the model first launched. The improvement is available on MG6 GT and Magnette diesel variants, while the decrease in emissions also lowers the tax band for all MG 6 diesels from group E to group D.
Audi has confirmed a successor to the current RS3 will be launched. Quattro GmbH chief Stephan Reil confirmed the decision to Autocar, saying the new model would rival the Merceded-Benz A45 AMG and would retain its predeccessor's 2.5-litre turbocharged five-cylinder engine.

General Motors has submitted a patent for a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. It's rumoured that the transmission might be used in the new Chevrolet C7 Corvette Stingray, replacing the car's existing six-speed torque converter automatic unit.
Infiniti has announced the appointment of Hugues Fabre as its new general manager in Western Europe. Currently the brand's global marketing strategy director, Fabre will take on the new role next month. He will be responsible for overseeing the brand's sales and marketing, focusing initially on the new Q50.

How difficult would it be for MG to buy in a 6 speed box....
And if still not eco enough an Eco engine say a D2 1.6 4 cylinder off the shelf unit. Either until they have their own ready or the MG6 reaches it's end of life? I couldn't see what this issue was interior wise, I thought it was much better built than the Toyota Auris I used to visit the dealer in. I think with a front end revision and new eco bits the car could have something. Awkward looks, 5 speed box, poor economy and bad depreciation (mostly due to the poor economy and 5 speed box) have made it a hard case to answer. Try tweaking it a little bit more!

The MG 6 DCi does have a 6-speed manual gearbox. The petrol's going to get it soon as well.

The million dollar question is will Audi make it so good that people buy it for more than its residual value and well-appointed interior?

Good News from MG
The MG 6 1.9 DTi now matches the Volkswagen Jetta 2.0 TDI on emissions as well as performance, while undercutting the VW's price by a couple of grand. There's a smaller, even more economical diesel in the pipeline, too! If only MG had more dealers...
