Smart gives Roadster a decent send-off

Smart is introducing a 'finale' special edition Roadster as it waves goodbye to the model.

The UK has bought over 6000 of the three-cylinder coupes and coupe-convertibles since they were introduced here in 2003. But with Smart consolidating its range, the model is about to be scrapped - at least, until it is reborn if plans by 'Project Kimber' to construct it in the UK reach fruition.

The special edition has an 80bhp engine and plenty of added kit, including 17in alloy wheels, metallic paint, air conditioning, a start switch in the gear lever and exclusive colour body panels.

Smart isn't about to shift the last few models at a knockdown price, however - the Roadster 'finale' still weighs in at a relatively hefty £13,990, with its coupé brother £700 more expensive.
