Roadster-Coupe gets an injection of Bi-turbo style

Smart is giving its doomed Roadster-Coupe a last hurrah in the shape of the limited-edition Roadster-Coupe Racing Edition (RCR). Just 50 individually numbered examples of the RCR will be available world-wide, powered by the 101bhp Brabus-fettled version of Smart’s 698cc triple mated to the usual automated six-speed manual gearbox. But more interesting than the power is the styling. Modelled on the fabulous V6 Bi-turbo Brabus prototype, it features bespoke racing red body panels with body-coloured front and rear grilles and rear roof spoiler, and a silver Tridion safety cell. The hand of BRABUS also appears inside, with red-stitched leather and Alcantara sports seats, aluminium gearlever, handbrake and pedal pads and a three-spoke steering wheel. At £17,295, the RCR is the priciest Smart yet, £300 costlier than the Roadster-Coupe Brabus.
