Autocar has driven three Subaru Impreza rally cars at Prodrive's Banbury headquarters, including a Colin McRae rally winner.
First up for Jamie Corstorphine was the Group N Impreza rally car, which can be bought by customers from Prodrive for £150,000. Next was a WRC car from 1997, which was developed and tested by Colin McRae to meet his specific "no understeer" requirements.
Finally, most memorably for Corstorphine was the Group A Impreza from 1996 that McRae drove to victory in the 1996 Rally Catalunya. You can see the video below or by clicking on the link at the bottom of the page.

Re: Three Subaru rally cars driven
These cars prove that you don't need huge size- like current and future Porshes, Ferrari's and Astons; and that you don't need huge wheels and tires to make a car grip and cover ground very very quickly and as well be fun to drive!! Indeed these cars are the reverse of so many cars that Autocar posts up here as being spectacular. We don't need bloated 911's and Jags, and Audi R8's, and MB SLS's and Ferrari GTO's we need Prodrive like rally spec type cars for 99% of our needs and wants. Sad story on the Automotive front and the Journalistic front. Goodbye to the ultimate ethos of the hot hatch! J

You are a lucky, lucky, lucky, lucky, lucky, lucky sod, Mr Corstorphine! I wonder if Prodrive would accept my eye teeth in lieu of payment?
