Porsche’s enigmatic Panamera continues to be revealed in all its glory in this latest batch of official pictures.
These studio shots show just how unusual the combination of volumes are that make up the Porsche Panamera body.
It is not as smoothly surfaced as it first appeared, with a marked raised centre section on the bonnet and exaggerated rear wings with a raised ridge running along them.
And despite the deep vent let into the side and the separate sill cover, the underlying form of the Panamera is quite a ‘square’.
The flat, deep sides and distinctive ‘corners’ are not completely disguised by the surfeit of styling tricks. If anything marked out previous Porsches – such as the 928 – its was a much more harmonious surface treatment. Here the chrome-lipped wing vent looks particularly uncharacteristic.
The open hatch shot shows that the car has reasonable boot capacity, but it is clearly compromised by the steeply sloping rear window line.
