The Aston Martin Vanquish Volante has been spied again, this time at the Nürburgring as the industry test season begins at the famous German race track.
It is thought the drop-top Vanquish will be revealed at the Pebble Beach Concours event in late August before going on sale in the autumn, around a year after the coupé version went on sale.
Changes to the coupé’s lines have been minimal, save for an extended rear spoiler necessary to achieve the same levels of high speed stability as the coupé. That model features advanced aerodynamics, which reduce the need for a bold rear wing.
The Vanquish Volante also appears slightly taller than the coupé. A folding soft-top has been used to reduce weight and lessen the impact of a bulkier rear.
Power will come from the same 5.9-litre naturally aspirated V12 as the coupé. Together with a mild increase in weight, the Volante is expected to provide a 0-62mph time of around 4.5sec and an 180mph top speed. A near-£200,000 price tag is likely.
The Vanquish is based around the fourth-generation VH platform. It makes extensive use of carbonfibre and is said to offer huge torsional rigidity, reducing the need for additional bracing.

This must be one of the few test cars that has a camouflage wrap put on it to make it more noticeable!
Without the wrap, no one would have realised it's a new model!

As much as this will be a beautiful car, why it is taking till after the summer to get this car into the market... being an ex aston matrtin employee this smells of aston being slow to get new things in the market as per usual
The V12 needs more power
I like Aston Martin, but they need to work on the V12 engine. The Vanquish produces 565bhp when the competition are north of 600bhp.
Power is not everything, but when you are paying £190,000, you expect more.
