The Honda Civic Type R is arguably today's greatest hot hatchback. Decades of Type R innovation has brought us to the point where the latest Civic is pushing more than 300bhp through its front wheels.
So, how did we get here? What defines a great Type R and, indeed, a great front-wheel drive driver's car at all?
We take a Civic to revisit one of the greatest Type Rs ever and, perhaps, the best front-wheel drive driver's car of all time: the Integra Type R, the small coupe that was among the first Type Rs in Europe, and whose VTEC engine went on to define Honda's performance brand.

Great review. You might want to do one on the 2000 Tommi Makinen Edition EVO 6.5. Often considered one of the greatest drivers cars of all time.
