Praise be, the regular Porsche 718 Cayman and Porsche 718 Boxster with a six-cylinder engine are back.
When Porsche moved its 718 Cayman and 718 Boxster to four-cylinder turbocharged engines, a good old-fashioned flat six engine was reserved for the limited edition Cayman GT4 and Porsche Boxster Spyder. Well, not anymore.
This is the 2020 718 GTS – in Cayman and Boxster forms – and it's fitted with a naturally-aspirated, 4.0-litre flat six engine that recently appeared in the Cayman GT4.
With 394bhp (400hp), the pair make 20bhp less than the range-topping GT4, but both still have a 0-60mph time of 4.5 seconds and a top speed of 182mph. The Cayman GTS costs from £64,088 and the Boxster GTS is priced from £65,949.
Here we've tested them on both road and track. Find out what we think of Porsche's new, naturally aspirated mid-engined sports cars.

Starting to feel like the coke urban myth
Starting to feel like "New Coke" & "Coke classic" from the 1980s. Remove from estbslihed replace with new and better (turbo), realise error and bring it back to stoke demand non turbo, although I dont think new coke would have had the same Porsche price hike. Sure they are great cars but I get bored of the advertorial way magazines portray portsches; journalist "group think" or the biggest press fleet out there?
6
But all the Boxster and Cayman should have a NA flat 6.
