Most people raise their eyebrows when they hear the SV Coupé’s stratospheric price (it's £240,000).
They think – rightly – that it's mighty steep for a Range Rover. But the brand is entering a new realm with SVO in which rarity and high pricing provide a very special cachet for customers. The SV Coupé’s job is to position a top-end Range Rover as a credible alternative to the purveyors of new luxury SUVs: Bentley, Rolls-Royce, Lamborghini and the rest.
New Range Rover SV Coupé revealed with £240k price tag
There’s bound to be a halo benefit for other Land Rover models, but there will also be something much more tangible: the SV Coupé is likely to be the brand’s most profitable model yet, an important point when you consider Jaguar Land Rover’s most recent figures showed a 25% fall in pre-tax profits. If each SV Coupé nets £100,000 and the proposed 999 vehicles all find buyers, that’s £100 million on the bottom line.

is it just me?
when you search for pictures of this, and inevitably see pictures of a proper range rover, don't you find yourself thiniking "naaaaa", and that being a 3 door makes it look a bit like a pickup with a top on. also, back seats = back doors, it really is that simple. at £240,000 getting in and out shouldn't remind you of a friend's first hatchback!
I worry about JLR
It seems they’re trading 70 years of hard earned off road image for chintz and bling.
I can’t help thinking that a profit drop is the result of having a range of cars that look far too similar (confusing) and overpriced.
A build of 999 isn’t all that exclusive (for a Range Rover with it’s rear doors welded up), when mixed with a profit margin of £100k, it runs dangerously close to opportunism and taking customers as fools.
About the price......?
There are People who live in the Emirates who could afford to give ten an hour away and wouldn’t notice it, that’s where these will go, of course there are buyers for these, building it to your spec is what they do, back in Blighty.....that’s a House price!!!!
