The ultimate all-electric SUV
The all-electric Ford Mustang Mach-E is far more than the sum of its parts. With show-stopping muscle-car looks, up to 487PS and 860Nm of instant torque on GT models, sports car-like handling, up to 372 miles* (WLTP) of range and buckets of advanced connected technology, everything works harmoniously to create a truly inspiring-to-drive SUV.
But, while each of the Mustang Mach-E’s parts are small cogs in a much larger machine, there are some individual features that truly shine out. So, from the huge vertical touchscreen to the optional built-in Bang & Olufsen sound bar, ‘hidden’ door handles and a clever ‘frunk’, we’ve pulled together eight of our favourite features of the Mustang Mach-E to help you find out why it should sit at the very top of your SUV shortlist.
Oh, and for added peace of mind, the Mustang Mach-E even topped the 2023 What Car? Reliability Survey with a 100% reliability score. Not bad, eh?

1. Tri-bar rear lights
The Ford Mustang Mach-E is a true Mustang in more ways than one, and nothing makes that more evident than its show-stopping muscle-car looks.
Up front, the wide grille and aggressive headlight brow gives the Mustang Mach-E a classic Mustang face, while the long, high, sculpted bonnet works with the truncated rear and pushed-back A-pillars for that unmistakable Mustang shape.
However, we think the stand-out feature of the Mustang’s design is its tri-bar rear lights. Introduced on the very first Mustang back in 1964, and honed through the years, the now-iconic vertical taillights leave a lasting impression that only a true Mustang can muster.

2. Clever coupé silhouette
The Ford Mustang Mach-E has plenty of substance to back up its style. Ford’s expert designers have cleverly used gloss-black surfaces on the roof and lower body to give the Mustang Mach-E a sloping, sporty coupé design that maximises head room and luggage space inside the vehicle, without compromising those head-turning looks on the outside. The result: plenty of room for five inside, 402 litres of versatile boot space, and bags of style.

3. 'Frunk'
Speaking of space, the Ford Mustang Mach-E’s clever roofline isn’t the only smart solution for creating more storage. Thanks to its all-electric underpinnings, the Mustang Mach-E offers a ‘frunk’ where the engine would normally reside in a non-electric car; this means you get an extra 81 litres of versatile storage space up front. This nifty compartment is also drainable – making it perfect for muddy hiking boots, wet sports clothing, or beach gear.

4. ‘Hidden’ door handles
When it comes to all-electric cars, aerodynamics play a huge role in maximising range. So, along with its slippery coupé design, Ford’s engineers thought up another ingenious solution to help the Mustang Mach-E cut through the air even more efficiently, helping it deliver up to 372 miles* (WLTP) of range.
Look closely and you’ll notice the Mustang Mach-E sports buttons in place of traditional door handles, while small winglets provide a hook which you use to pull the door open. You can also access the car via a keypad on the driver’s door – set your chosen code, and you can punch your numbers in to open, lock or even access the 'frunk'.

5. Vertical 15.5in touchscreen
Inside the Ford Mustang Mach-E, the first thing you’ll notice is the enormous, high-definition 15.5in central touchscreen. Positioned vertically for easier and safer on-the-go usability, the screen is the hub of all activity. At the bottom, easy-to-use touch-sensitive buttons make adjusting the dual-zone climate control a breeze, while the only physical button – the volume control – is perfectly positioned for both driver and passenger use.
The touchscreen is also your portal to SYNC, Ford’s next-generation infotainment system, with cloud-based always-on connectivity. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto come as standard, while SYNC also brings intelligent voice recognition, as well as real-time navigation and hazard warnings. Equally, Ford’s software updates to ensure your Mustang Mach-E always features the very latest software.

Speaking of infotainment, Ford Mustang Mach-E Premium AWD and GT versions boast an award-winning 560-watt 10-speaker B&O Hi-Fi system as standard to deliver a truly visceral listening experience. The best part of the sound system, though, is the seamlessly integrated sound bar found in the dashboard, giving you that real front-row feeling as you’re driving. Very cool.

7. Ford BlueCruise
The Ford Mustang Mach-E comes equipped with an extensive suite of driver aids that help make driving easier and less stressful. These include intelligent adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, evasive steering and automatic high beam assist, to name a few. The jewel in the Mustang Mach-E’s crown, however, is BlueCruise assisted technology**.
Subscribe to the system, and BlueCruise uses a wealth of radars and cameras to control your speed and driving line, allowing hands-off eyes-on driving when travelling in designated Blue Zones – which makes up around 95% of the UK’s motorway network as well as recently introduced countries such as Germany and Spain, with many more to join in 2024.
