Restomod concept provides a throwback to Seat’s 600, in celebration of the model’s 60th anniversary

The Seat 600 BMS is to be revealed as a retro-inspired concept at the Automobile Barcelona show later this month.

Based on the 600; a small car built by Seat under licence from Fiat, the 600 BMS - that's Barcelona Motor Show - concept features a retractable canvas top, and is fitted with suicide doors.

Seat has not released any images of the concept yet, aside from a single sketch, but it has detailed the car’s colour scheme; metallic grey with orange decals across the exterior, with leather upholstery and orange stitching inside.

The styling of the car is still under wraps, but as a restomod, rather than a retro-inspired model, it’ll share the vast majority of its styling with the original 600. The wheels and brakes are from the original donor car.

Seat has chosen the 600 as ‘one of its most iconic models’, which was first built 60 years ago in 1957, but despite the car’s history and market-friendly retro styling, has been penned by Seat as a ‘design exercise’, with no plans for production of any derivation of the concept.
