Giulietta hatchback and CX-5 SUV both get mild updates for 2014, while Ermini gets ready to launch its Seiottosei sports car at Geneva motor show

The updated 2014 Alfa Romeo Giulietta is now on sale for £18,235. Upgrades include a new grille, different wheels, more supportive seats and a standard-fit DAB radio. Alfa also says the engine line-up is cleaner while the 2.0-litre diesel is now more powerful.

Ermini, a classic Italian car manufacturer, will be revealing its new Seiottosei sports car at the Geneva motor show. It will make extensive use of carbonfibre and power will come from a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine. Only 46 will be made. The company produced its last car, the Ermini 357 Sport 1500cc, in 1955.

Mazda has revised its Mazda CX-5 SUV in order to maintain competitiveness with rivals like the Kia Sportage. The CX-5's suspension has been retuned to offer a better ride, leather trim is now standard and manual models get a simpler starting system to allow for quick recovery from stalls. Prices start at £21,595.
