Citroen takes the wraps off its hottest open-top supermini yet, the DS3 Racing Cabrio

The 199bhp Citroën DS3 Cabrio Racing has made its world debut this morning at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.

Weighing only 25kg more than the DS3 Racing hatchback, the car has been jointly developed with the Citroën World Rally Championship team. Citroën says that thanks to its low weight, and new running gear and brakes, the DS3 Racing Cabrio has 'lively and agile' handling.

The black 19-inch alloy wheels enhance the DS3 Racing Cabrio's sporty look, with bespoke Moondark matte grey paint and black chrome inserts on the handles, boot trim and mirrors marking it out from the Racing hatchback. There's plenty of DS stitching on show, too, and the logo is also engraved on each of the door mirror housings.

Brake calipers, wheel hubs and parts of the badging are also coloured in a bright Carmin red.

Inside the DS3 Racing Cabrio gets bucket seats, available in three types of fabric, plus plenty of DS-embossed leather. Red Carmin stitching is present on the seats, dashboard and gear lever.

Keen to make the DS3 Racing Cabrio appear practical to customers, Citroën has also included a bespoke child seat and matching rally helmets as options.

Pricing and sale dates have not yet been announced.
