The 2017 Subaru Impreza will be unveiled at the New York motor show on 23 March in both saloon and five-door hatchback variations, the manufacturer has confirmed.
Subaru says the new Impreza has been completely redesigned inside and out, and it will also be the first model built on Subaru's new scalable Global Platform, featuring Subaru's all-wheel-drive system as well as its latest safety technology.

It is yet to be confirmed whether it will be coming to the UK, but the hatchback version is expected to arrive later this year, pitched against the likes of the Ford Focus and Mazda 3.
The new platform is designed to be lighter and stronger, and will underpin all of Subaru's new models, like the production version of the XV concept unveiled at the Geneva motor show.
The architecture can also incorporate electric and hybrid powertrains, but the engine line-up has not been announced for the next-generation Impreza, although a flat-four engine is expected to be included.
The next-generation Impreza was previewed by a thinly-veiled concept car at the LA motor show last year.
