Structure wheel gives alloy looks without the fear of kerbs

Vauxhall has come up with a solution for all drivers who are continually frustrated by having to pay hundreds to replace alloy wheels damaged during unfortunate encounters with the kerb. Called the Structure wheel, it is a styled steel wheel with a close-fitting plastic cover that costs just £16 to replace if damaged. The Structure is fitted as standard equipment to all new Vectra Exclusiv models.

Beneath the cover is a five-spoke steel wheel, and unlike most clip-on hubcaps the cover is held in place by the wheel’s bolts to prevent it coming loose when the car is in motion. Vauxhall claims that the wheel is little heavier than its equivalent 16-inch alloy variant to ensure that the car’s dynamics are not affected.
